unpleasant Copeland (Aaron, not Stewart) influences.

amazing self control; after two "taxi" songs to play *this* joni mitchell song.

not beatles, but a rip-off of a song co-penned by Sir Paul. ================= Is it all in that pretty little head of yours? What goes on in that place in the dark? Well I used to know a girl and I would have sworn That her name was Veronica Well she used to have a carefree mind of her own And a delicate look in her eye These days I'm afraid she's not even sure If her name is Veronica

it's a reference to the (still experimental) glom daemon.

I don't think it's Michael Stipe. I'm pretty sure it's Brian Sipe (common mistake).

this is actually "Hold On"

It's important not to rate a song "1" the first time you hear it no matter how big a Tom Waits fan you are or how bad you think it is. You need to save some "ammo" so you can drop it down a notch or two each time you hear it.

Is this a Milli Vanilli reference?

this is the kind of song for which we need STRS (spinal tap rating system)

here's a short program which makes it more annoying (sorry it's not more obfuscated): #!/usr/bin/perl $song="Join Together"; $song=~ s/Join /Magic /g; $song=~ s/Togeher/Bus/g; print "$songn";

interesting. not my cuppa tea, but i can here the roots of so much of what followed. seems a lot of people have strong negative reactions to this. it's much easier too berate those who don't like your music than to like other people's music i guess. i put in some typos so people can fell good about dismissing these opinions.

it's interesting to see how much context can do for a song.

"and even if you're in the arms of someone's baby now i'll drink a great big whiskey to you anyway." not until i heard this song at this tempo did i realize that the replacements were, shall we say "influenced" subliminally or otherwise by this tune. astonishing similarity really.

When I see this song at 7.4 and the fine (I'm not being sarcastic, but I don't really think they're comparable) Cake song Guitar at 7.5 it makes me wonder if there are also *young* fogies out there. I guess this is the cue for all of the older listeners who prefer Cake and the young 'uns who prefer the Byrds to identify themselves and take exception to my incredibly astute musicological analysis.
