Definetly Good Bye Blue Skye inspired. But a nice song anyway. So many songs got inspiration from somewhere, be it "Whiter Shade of Pale" with Bach bass line.

I have never in 10± years written a comment here on RP,  but this has gotten me to grab my keyboard to say thanks Bill and Rebecca!

RP is the ONLY radiostation that has a satisfying catalouge of music. Bar none!

Thank you sooo much!

Not because I particularily like this song but because you appreciate it enough to be played and thus broaden my horizon once more...

Forgive me my grammar and other mistakes I may have made.

Marc, Hamburg, Germany

Hey Marc, Du hast sowas von recht! Ich höre RP seit mindestens 15 Jahren tagein tagaus, überall und immer und zahle per regelmäßiger Abbuchung. SENSATIONELLE ARBEIT von Bill & Rebecca!

Ouch! {#Eek}

Dead man coughin'...or dead man coffin? Discuss amongst yourselves.

I kind of like the former. Digging the music and the swirl of the non-English vocals...going with a 7 on this one. {#Wink}

I am just a bloody Kraut, but the idea of these lines is even clear to me:
it ends with coffin - sounding like progressive forms of the other lines - but there is no progression at this point.

OK, maybe nobody does understand what I'm trying to say. So just enjoy RP... ;-)

Woah. Not only clearly racist but so uninformed that is actually comical. This is a Salsa song, not even close rhythmically to Ranchero music. Also, even though played at Mexico, Salsa comes from Cuba/Puerto Rico.  I wish we had the option to kick out people like you. There is no space for people like you on a radio station like RP

This kind of music is played live by fantastic groups of musicians on the canary islands, that are actually part of Europe. This sound is so typically to the islands because lots of people went to Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia or Mexiko to work and escape the poor but beautiful life there. Many returned and brought this kind of music back.

And when the lyrics say "Oye que te llevaré a una isla bonita" (Hey, I'll take you
to a beautiful island) it is very likely they think about the island LA PALMA, which is called "La isla bonita" and very famous because of its beauty.

And, hey: I do live there, too (for some months each year) – and when RP runs songs like these, I get a warm feeling of home. So: Thank you Bill!

Yes of course, just as Peter Gabriel sings “my goats like to travel”.

…and Mark Knopfler sings in Sailing to Philadelphia "Amazing dicks in line"

You are right, this is Jiddish, not German.
And I thank all fellow radio listeners who don't join aweful and totally foolish racist stuff or blaming the generation born long after WW II for the cruel deeds of others. Please come and meet us, don't asume what you simply can't judge. Thanks.

Reminds me a bit of Lambchop. Kurt has the same style of "singing". but anyway - it has some charme...

Where can I buy this song? Great idea - both songs remain untouched by the way: just listen to them individually. But this crossing is killer!

But it could be worse: Could be the Beatles with their last song, even played once it sucks. Kate enjoys me for the x-th time now...

Wunderbar! Thank you, Billl, for showing us once again what music is all about: a worldwide language for love, peace and understanding

Amazing coincidence: in the first two choruses the sun shone in on my speakers. Every time the Franti sang "that's the sound of the sun coming down".

For this you must know  it is a cloudy and cold November day today.

Why, oh why, Bill, are you playing songs like this, which sound so much like mainstream radio?

Aw, Bill, you cut off the spy number stations sample at the end of this track, which really are eerie and complement the song. Please reinstate the cut off bits on the next play, pretty please :o)
  spy number stations? What does that mean?

Can anyone help?
What do those numbers mean the woman speaks in the outro of the song?

This is the only Way to Listen to that song, since Neil Youngs voice totally sucks... Sorry for being that rude, but he may be a great songwriter, but he is a terrible singer.
