This is awful. If I want to hear bad Ranchero music, I will dial my radio to any of the illegal Mexican radio stations that litter our public airways..... Please stop playing this crap.
Woah. Not only clearly racist but so uninformed that is actually comical. This is a Salsa song, not even close rhythmically to Ranchero music. Also, even though played at Mexico, Salsa comes from Cuba/Puerto Rico. I wish we had the option to kick out people like you. There is no space for people like you on a radio station like RP
Scottish salsa.
His name - which I won't share exactly - was something along the lines of Séamus González.
He would tell you that he was genetically predisposed to bar fights, and while I never witnessed that I also never called it into question, because he had tattooed across the knucles of each hand "SPIC" and "MICK".
I hope he's okay and listening to this band.
Had to bring her back up to the top of the comments.
Deja que yo te lleve a esa isla mágica
La isla del amor, la isla de la vida Dime princesa (En soledad)
Pa' donde vas (Que pérdida)
¿Ay que te pasa? (DÃmelo)
Abre tu corazón (Cómo no) Dime princesa (En soledad)
Pa' donde vas (Que pérdida)
¿Ay que te pasa? (DÃmelo)
Abre tu corazón (Cómo no) Quieres bailar conmigo (Cariño)
(Quieres amar)
Esa magia perdida Pa' que vuelvas a soñar
(Quieres soñar)
Y ponerle amor a la vida Ven conmigo mamita
No tenga miedo
Dame la mano Oye dame la mano mamita
(Quieres amar)
Que yo te llevaréA una isla bonita
(Quieres soñar)
Donde el sol nunca se vuelve Pa' que vuelvas a encontrar
(Quieres amar)
Oye quieres bailar conmigo (Cariño) Con sabor

Why? WHY?! What did I ever do to you, Bill? Was I unkind to you or people you love? What did I do to deserve this.. Whatever it is, I promise to never do it again. Please, please. I beg of you. Don't do this to me again. I give. Mercy. You win. I'll never wrong you again. Then, can you forgive me and not - ever - play this again? I promise to love you forever...
For Ignorants like you there is the PSD button and now shuffle off and get on someone else's nerves...
And yet still best played wearing kilts.
well-fed 10

This kind of music is played live by fantastic groups of musicians on the canary islands, that are actually part of Europe. This sound is so typically to the islands because lots of people went to Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia or Mexiko to work and escape the poor but beautiful life there. Many returned and brought this kind of music back.
And when the lyrics say "Oye que te llevaré a una isla bonita" (Hey, I'll take you
to a beautiful island) it is very likely they think about the island LA PALMA, which is called "La isla bonita" and very famous because of its beauty.
And, hey: I do live there, too (for some months each year) – and when RP runs songs like these, I get a warm feeling of home. So: Thank you Bill!
