Mondo Bongo - Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros
Posted 18 years ago by h2o:
The past year I have become the bigest Joe Strummer fan. I have always kinda liked him and the clash, but now I'm suddenly actively listening to him alot. Both the clash and solo stuff.

Man, if only the rest of this CD were as good as Homme. Sadly, the rest is, in fact, quite bad.
I love this cd. I dont feel that this is the best song on it, but, as a whole, its a good listen. Great for bopping around the house!

I have a hard time NOT liking this band or enjoying this tune. I would love to hear them perform "Hard Times, Come Again No More" live on-stage.
The diversity that exists in this world is wonderful and keeps life interesting. That said, my feelings on this band and song are the complete opposite of the above. Amazing.

Way ahead of their time!
I rather think they were a defining element of their time. A great song. Smith was at the top of his game when this came out.

Out the Window - Violent Femmes

They only had one album. to acknowledge the others only makes me sad
Jump Into The Fire - Harry Nilsson
Posted 17 years ago by h2o:
Never heard this before. I'm digin it. Reminds me of the band suicide. They seem to be from the same time period as well. Harry I think is more polished and less electric.

Better than adaquate, but still just makes it. I love Men at Work and Hay's other solo offerings, though.
I think I like this version better than MAW

Good song. Cash's vocals make Leonard Cohen sound almost cheerful.
I believe that is Trent Reznor.
