As with all of her songs, her voice converts what would otherwise be an average song to a mesmerizing launch into an ethereal & existential experience.

Her voice is to music like James Stewart's acting was to a movie.  In neither case, was their gift wasted.

The background vocals are provided by drummer Brent "Fathead" DeBoer.  I love the Dandys also and saw them last Summer in Charlotte, NC at the Fillmore.  My son and I actually got hang out with them until about 3:30 am that night.   They are very approachable "normal" people despite the persona of the Dandy's.  Courtney Taylor-Taylor, despite his reputation as being opinionated etc, I found to be really a warm and generous person.  He's a well read, intellectual, west coast type, sprinkled with a healthy ego so it would not surprise me in the least that he might be the type to not suffer fools wisely.  But, like any artist I'm a fan of, it's all about the music!

My son's favorite band growing up was the Dandys and now my son considers them friends.  He even went to Portland spend some time with them (primarily Courtney) because he is studying music business here in Virginia.  He even got to do some recording at the "Odditorium" where they produce themselves and other bands via their label "Beat the World" records.

That entire story seems really surreal to me now.  I can't believe it even happened.

Midnight Oil is an important example of the transition from the 80's to the 90's.

I've always like them, but to me they are like Dr. Pepper,  the first sip is delicious but with each swallow it gets less palatable.  I like to mix them in with other artists in mixes but I've had a hard time digesting a full album.

This tune is 6.9

I like this song very much.  My scale is strict, however.   So, 7.

Depending upon the song, of course, I've generally like songs that build to a maximum outpouring of musical emotion.  This song strikes me that way and I do like it.

Geez, I hate these American Top 40-ish dime-a-dozen bands. Blech.

Wait, what's that? They're an Icelandic indie band? What a great fresh sound!

That is funny, but I do kinda like this song.
