Kongos
Kongos (often styled as KONGOS) is a South African American band, now based in Austin, Texas. The alternative rock group consists of four brothers: Dylan (vocals, bass guitar, guitar), Johnny (accordion, keyboards, vocals), Jesse (drums, percussion, vocals) and Daniel Kongos (guitar, vocals). The four men are the sons of recording artist John Kongos.

PRO TIP: Avoid the radio instead! Then you can evaluate music on its own merits instead of holding this station up to some weird "I don't like it because I heard it elsewhere" hipster standard.

I'd kind of given up on rating songs on RP (cause the system lacks granularity as i've mentioned elsewhere), but having read the slagging this song seems to be getting for no reason of the songs fault, and the current rating total being 6.9 (which in my opinion should read '69'), i've just given it a '70' (a '7' in this sledgehammer system), because i like it.
and i have to say i have never ever heard it played on any other radio station at all ever.
Just my tu'pence worth, as always.

Saw them live twice. The first time it was a surprise as a support for another band. I had never heard of these guys, but they rocked! After that I looked them up and you can definitely hear their father's influence in the music they make. The second time I bought a ticket to a show in Amsterdam and they blew off the roof! Got me a signed vinyl record as a present

A question to those who complain about the song being overplayed at various unnamed radio stations: Why are you listened to those stations so much? Read a book, listen to the news, and then when you are ready for an eclectic music mix go to RP

It's more than 'kind of' catchy. It makes me tap my toes and curl my lips into a smile when it starts. It's a tune. Doesn't matter I heard it first in an ad.

I think this deserves a bit higher than it is getting.  Catchy but IMO a good catchy.  Just a matter of taste.  Always thought they sang it as "War Come With Me Now" but it's "WHOA" - does make more sense.  Their dad must be proud.  He of "He's Gonna Step On You Again" and "Tokoloshe Man" fame from the early '70s (John Kongos) - also played here occasionally.  These are his kids.  Still, a guilty pleasure tune.

Anybody want to post an interpretation?  I get the "War! Come with me now" even though the RP-version lyrics omit the exclamation.

That missing word changes the meaning considerably, eh?
