nice, if you have more of natacha atlas, i would love to hear it!
Natacha, I'm falling in love with you.
I have another interesting song featuring her vocals I may upload here.
Police and the Private - Metric

This song is simply beautiful, like the Jeff Beck song that came after it.
Have You Got It in You? - Imogen Heap

I'm glad Bill thinks this is a most excellent album. I do also, and look forward to hearing more songs from it on Radio Paradise (particularly Loose Ends or Walk)!
E‐Pro - Beck

The video for this is the closest thing I've ever seen to some of my dreams... very difficult to explain in words but here it's visualized!
Every Ship Must Sail Away - Blue Merle

Remembered where the line is from - Dave Matthews Band "Crash"...
"You're wearing nothing but you wear it oh so well"
Black-Eyed Dog - Gomez

Simply too repetitive. I'd like to hear Nick Drake's version if this is a cover. His guitar playing is beautiful.
Every Ship Must Sail Away - Blue Merle

This band could be listenable if they did a little more with the bluegrass edge, but it's infuriating to me how the singer emulates every little inflection of Chris Martin's voice. Coldplay is awesome, but be someone else!!
There's a lyric in this song that I swear is from one of Coldplay's but I'm not sure - "You wear it oh so well"... can anyone back me up on this?
This band has an entire live set available for download on their site and listening to all of it just made me feel sad.
Above The Treetops - Pat Metheny Group

This music would sound perfect when driving into a city you've never visited, just as sunset casts an orange light on all the buildings.
Ausencias - Astor Piazzolla

Sounds very much like Café Noir - melancholy gypsy/folk dance music.
Easy - Emilíana Torrini

This song has some SWEET bass work.
Sixty Sixteen (for Karina) - Banco de Gaia

Why does this remind me of long trippy sequences in movies like 2001: A Space Odyessy and Star Trek: The Motion Picture?
I think this song's title needs a colon in it.
Ngankarrparni - Peter Gabriel

This really hits the spot :goodvibes:
Indeed. Perfect faded in from the previous song's chanting.
I had to get out the headphones for this.
Coming Up for Air - LHB

Ever notice how many songs get played on KCRWmusic.com before they show up here? (not that it's a bad thing; I listen to both every day)
Rain Come Down - Eastmountainsouth

Get rid of the electric drum track, and I'd think highly of it.
Are you kidding? I happen to think the detailed percussion elements here are beautiful - the crowning touch on this gorgeous track!
Angels (with Norah Jones) - Wax Poetic
Posted 20 years ago by razorwriter:
I suggest adding the Thievery Corporation remix of Angels as an alternative to this version. It doesn't have the "monkey hooting" and may be a better version besides that also.
mmm. Norah Jones is amaaaazing.......
The Box - Orbital

Now that Orbital are no more , this song strikes me as having a vibe of mourning.
Actually, wouldn't be bad played at a funeral...
Funny story to relate: There's a great little store in Seattle called "Lark in the Morning" that sells all manner of ethnic and unusual musical instruments... when I visited in 98, they had a hammered dulcimer (the instrument that makes the 5-note chiming melody in this song) and while I was looking around the store some guy starts attempting to bang out that melody on it....
I wonder how many times a day the store owners have to hear mangled versions of that melody thanks to this song? :-k

When Will I - Monte Montgomery

Wow.
This is so very pleasant! Acoustic jamming that's not boring.
Here It Comes - Doves
Posted 20 years ago by razorwriter:
this is one of those Doves songs I don't mind hearing occassionally... though not a favorite like "caught by the river"
Hurt - Johnny Cash
Posted 20 years ago by razorwriter:
Wow, this is eerie. I happened to be browsing the Cash estate which is being auctioned off by Sotheby's... Was looking at the coat he wore in this video just as the song came on. It's on this page.
This whole estate sale thing is eerie. It's all the stuff they had in their house or ever cared about. All the Grammys, gold and platinum records, handwritten song lyrics...
Spies - Coldplay

My favourite Coldplay song - just love the atmosphere in it!!
I concur. At least from this album. A Rush Of Blood... is at least at this level for every song, IMO tho... they just get better!
