I thought the same thing, well, not that he borrowed it, but the "oh-oh-oh" is a dead ringer, innit?

(the song we're referring to is available on YouTube, and is quite good)

Too close to call a coincidence... but thanks for turning me on to Gram Rabbit! Though it would appear that Marc Broussard's "Home" was released a few years before "Dirty Horse," somebody definitely 'borrowed' from somebody else.

The original version from the local Philly release "Amore" album is far better, but this will do... Happy to hear it on RP!

Am I the only person who hears The Beach Boys in this song? I've been a casual fan of The Shins for a few years, but today, while playing in the background I thought I was hearing some lost/new Beach Boys type of tune. When my attention returned, I realized I was listening to The Shins. Today was the first I heard that Beach Boys influence. Just a noticing.
Have a fine day!

I don't get Joni Mitchell, it's as if they mixed the vocals with the wrong music. But it every song. Ya'll enjoy this, I'm gonna go see what the next song is.

I hear ya. Joni took me a very long while to appreciate. Check back in with this album in ten years and see if you still feel the same.    :)

"Connecticut days go by...."
Yup. That's definitely what he's saying and not just what I'm feeling.
